Chief Executive Officer

Tyler Page is the Chief Executive Officer of Cipher Mining, where he leads all aspects of the business. Prior to founding Cipher, he was responsible for business development and strategic planning for the Bitfury Group. He brings more than 20 years of experience in institutional finance and fintech, including senior roles at New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG), Stone Ridge Asset Management, Guggenheim Partners, Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers. He began his career as an attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.

Will Iwaschuk

Co-President & Chief Legal Officer

Will Iwaschuk is the Co-President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Cipher Mining. As one of two Co‑Presidents, he shares responsibility for running the company’s day‑to‑day operations, with particular focus on corporate aspects of the business. Prior to joining Cipher, he was a partner at Tower Research Capital, where he served as the global General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and a member of the Board and Management Committee. He brings over 20 years of financial services experience, including partnership at Morgan Lewis & Bockius and legal roles at Goldman Sachs, and began his career at Davis Polk & Wardwell. He earned a B.A. and an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and serves on the board of the Texas Blockchain Council.

Patrick Kelly

Co-President & Chief Operating Officer

Patrick Kelly is the Co‑President & Chief Operating Officer of Cipher Mining. Prior to joining Cipher, he was Chief Operating Officer and co‑founder of Stone Ridge Asset Management, where he oversaw operations, technology and accounting, and served as Treasurer and Principal Financial Officer for the Stone Ridge Trusts. He also served on the advisory board of Atalaya Capital Management, managing the build‑out of Funding Path. Patrick started his career at Citadel and has held leadership roles at Magnetar Capital and D.E. Shaw & Co. He is a CFA Charterholder and a graduate of DePaul University.

Gregory Mumford

Chief Financial Officer

Gregory Mumford is the Chief Financial Officer of Cipher Mining. Before joining Cipher, he was a senior investment banker in the Digital Assets & Infrastructure Investment Banking group at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, advising on a wide range of M&A and capital markets transactions. He brings more than a decade of corporate finance and leadership experience and began his career at one of Canada's largest banks, advising on complex credit solutions. He is a CFA Charterholder and a graduate of McMaster University.

James Newsome

Board Chair

James Newsome served as president of the New York Mercantile Exchange from 2004 until its acquisition by CME Group in 2009 and subsequently served on the CME Group board until 2011. He previously served on the boards of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange and the National Futures Association. From 1998 to 2004 he held senior roles at the CFTC—from Commissioner to Chairman—where he guided regulation of futures markets and led the implementation of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. He also served on the President’s Working Group for Financial Markets, sits on the advisory board of Bitfury Top HoldCo and is a founding partner of Delta Strategy Group. He earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Economics from Mississippi State University.

Caitlin Long

Director

Caitlin Long has extensive experience in both traditional financial services and cryptocurrencies. She is Chairman and CEO of Custodia Bank, which she founded in 2020 to bridge U.S. dollar and cryptocurrency financial systems. She has been active in Bitcoin since 2012 and helped lead Wyoming to enact over 20 blockchain‑enabling laws, serving on legislative committees appointed by Wyoming governors. She previously held senior roles as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse from 1994 to 2016. Caitlin earned a B.A. from the University of Wyoming and a joint J.D./M.P.P. degree from Harvard Law School and Harvard Kennedy School.

Wesley Williams

Director

Wesley Williams brings over 20 years of corporate finance experience. Since 2017 he has served as Portfolio Manager, Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Board of Managers of Gallatin Loan Management (and head of its successor entity Aquarian Credit Partners). He co‑founded Hildene Leveraged Credit in 2013 and served as a turnaround operating partner and interim CFO for Goldman Sachs portfolio companies. Earlier he worked at Marathon Asset Management and held roles in the Investment Banking and Merchant Banking divisions of Goldman Sachs. He holds an AB in Sociology from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Holly Morrow Evans

Director

Holly Morrow Evans has been a partner at Hakluyt & Company since 2015. From 2007 to 2013 she served as a senior adviser for ExxonMobil, and she previously served as director on the National Security Council (2005–2007) and as China advisor to the U.S. Vice President’s office (2003–2005). She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Georgetown University and an M.A. in Asian Studies from Harvard University.

Cary Grossman

Director

Cary Grossman is a veteran corporate finance professional and has co‑founded and served as officer/director of two SPACs: Good Works Acquisition Corp. (which merged with Cipher Mining) and Good Works II Acquisition Corp. He has held numerous executive roles including President of XFit, Inc.; Chief Financial Officer of Blaze Metals, LLC; Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Gentium S.P.A.; Chief Executive Officer of ERP Environmental Services; and Chief Financial Officer of U.S. Liquids. He co‑founded Pentacon, Inc. (NYSE: JIT), serving as Executive Chairman, and served as director of Metalico and INX Inc. He co‑founded Shoreline Capital Advisors and earlier co‑founded investment banking firm McFarland, Grossman & Company. Cary is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Texas.

Robert Flatley

Director

Robert Flatley brings more than 30 years of experience as CEO, founder, managing director and board member of financial institutions and fintech companies. Since 2021 he has served as CEO and founder of TS Imagine, formed after the merger of Trading Screen and Imagine Software. From 2018 to 2019 he served as director and President, CFO and COO at NYDIG and from 2010 to 2018 he was CEO of CoreOne Technologies. Earlier he was a managing director at Deutsche Bank Securities and Banc of America Securities. He has hands-on experience in trading, securities, prime finance, software development and M&A and founded successful companies using software and data-as-a-service models. He earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Iowa.

Thomas Duda

Director

Thomas Duda serves as the Vice President of Real Estate for Henry Crown and Company, the holding company and family office of the Crown family. With more than 23 years of investment experience, he leads the family’s real estate investment and asset management efforts. He is also a member of the firm’s investment and management committee.
Prior to joining the Crown family, he was responsible for various commercial real estate strategies at Hunt Companies Inc, the private holding company and family office of the Hunt family of El Paso, TX. While at Hunt, he was a member of the real estate investment committee and the energy and municipal infrastructure investment committee. Prior to Hunt, he was a Managing Director of Investments at One William Street Capital Management, a real estate and real assets investment management firm. He began his career in the mortgage banking and structured credit division of Bear Stearns & Co. where he structured and traded various real estate and asset backed securities. A graduate of the University of Virginia, he holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Foreign Affairs.
